Fruits of Someone Else's Labour

Ever been on the receiving side of things that others have set up, or cleared up? The answer is yes. In every generation, there have always been people who fought for the greater good. Women's voting rights, for example. Without that movement, women would find themselves on a very different social standing.

This happens in personal and professional lives too. Have you been the one who opened a pathway for something good, but weren't the one to enjoy the fruits of it? It is frustrating, to say the least. I've been there multiple times. And I'm thanked, too. But it still feels hollow inside, because I wish someone would make that way for me.

This is why it is important to remember: that I am able to do the things I can is because someone else made a sacrifice.

I do not wish to be a martyr. Not for me. Never signed up for it, and never will. But on occasion, I like to open doors. It is sad that I cannot enjoy the benefits of it all the time. But such is life!
